Source North America, headquartered in Addison, Illinois, is in an enviable position. In the middle of the Corn Belt, the company is taking advantage of an increased interest in E85 and biodiesel fuels and working with its supplier, Franklin Fueling Systems, to meet the demand of service station owners. Jeff Dzierzanowski, Source NA’s new business development manager, says the demand is the result of several things. There is a lot of interest in moving to environmentally friendly fuels manufactured in the U.S., so dealers are changing out equipment. Plus, it doesn’t hurt that the state of Illinois is offering up to a $50,000 incentive rebate to stations installing the tanks and appropriate equipment. Working with Allan Busch, product manager of service station hardware at Franklin Fueling Systems, Source NA is providing a complete alternative fuel system, including valves, fittings, sensors, monitoring equipment and hanging hardware. Busch is making sure that systems are compatible and environmentally secure, and that Source NA has the equipment its customers want. Those customers include independent dealerships, small family-owned oil companies, major oil companies and commercial applications. Source NA is currently an E85 beta site for the General Motors Proving Ground. Dzierzanowski acknowledges the concern with UL’s de-listing of E85 dispensing systems. However, he says, people see the advantage of selling E85 gas right now for a variety of reasons. The UL situation will be addressed when the time comes. We’re all moving forward. |
